We will dazzle the audience with Brahms Piano Quartet in C minor, Op. 60 (1875) and Fauré Piano Quartet #2 in G minor, Op.45 (1886). Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) was a German composer, but spent most of his professional life in Vienna. Brahms is often considered both a traditionalist and an innovator. His music is firmly rooted in the structures and compositional techniques of the Baroque and Classical masters. Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924) was one of the foremost French composers of his generation, and his musical style influenced many 20th-century composers. Among his best-known works are his Pavane, Requiem, nocturnes for piano, and the songs "Après un rêve" and "Clair de lune". Although his best-known and most accessible compositions are generally his earlier ones, Fauré composed many of his greatest works in his later years, in a harmonically and melodically much more complex style.
