Born in Coro, Venezuela, Ericmar Perez began her violin studies through “El Sistema,” the internationally renowned music program founded by Jose Antonio Abreu. She continued to study at the Latin American Academy of Violin, Caracas. In 2000 Ericmar immigrated to the United States after winning a scholarship to study at New World School of Art, studying with Thomas Moore and Daniel Andai. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Florida. During her time at school, she won the concerto competition twice, performing the Prokofiev Violin Concerto in G minor and the Bloch Nigun, earning her the concertmaster chair for two years. Ms. Perez has recorded and performed with several artists including Cristian Castro, Marc Anthony, Juanes and Marco Antonio Solis. She has performed with the Florida Grand Opera and for five years with the Miami City Ballet orchestra. She teaches violin at the Superior Academy of Music in Miami.
